The Story

Women Are Rising began with a question.

More than a decade ago, I wrote the theatrical production Ladies Night Unmasked. Within the play was a question:

"How do you feel about your life today? Are you happy or disappointed with the outcome?"

Onstage, the question landed. The audience heard it. The characters wrestled with it. And the story moved forward. But somewhere along the way, the question stopped being just a line I had written.

I realized I had to answer it for myself.

That journey required me to confront truths and hidden parts of my own story. Eventually, I began posing the same question to other women. What started as a question became conversations, and those conversations grew into a panel of women willing to unmask their stories.

From there, WAR - Women Are Rising & Unmasking Their Stories was born.

Today, the gathering continues with a broader invitation. You don't need a story to unmask or something to heal.

Come as you are.

Women Are Rising is meeting women where they are with space for conversation, creativity, connection, stillness, laughter, reflection, and whatever the moment may call for.

The Experience

There is no prerequisite for being in the room.

You don't have to arrive with a story to unmask, something to heal, or an expectation of who you are supposed to be.

You may come needing rest.

You may come wanting conversation.

You may come ready to create.

You may come wanting laughter, connection, stillness, movement, reflection, or simply a Saturday afternoon among other women.

Women Are Rising creates space for all of it.

Each gathering may look and feel different: creativity, conversation, sound, movement, food, reflection, shared experiences, or something we haven't imagined yet.

Every gathering will be different because meeting women where they are requires room for the experience to change.
